This site provides the information about the research activities of the project
"Riparian vegetation modelling for the assessment of environmental flow regimes
and climate change impacts within the WFD" (RIPFLOW funded by the Spanish, Austrian
and German institutional members (FCT, UBA-A and MEC respectively) of the European
research network IWRM-Net. The project has started in November 2008 and will finish
in November 2010.
The aims of this project are to develop a dynamic riparian model and the application
to project case studies.
The members involved in the project are: the Agronomy Institute of the Technical University
of Lisbon (Portugal), the Umweltbüro Klagenfurt (Austria) and the Institutes of Integrated
Management of Coastal Areas and of Water Engineering and Environment from the Technical
University of Valencia (Spain). |
End Users
The end users of this project will be:
Spain:
- The Water Board of the Jucar River basin, one of the pilot basins for the WFD implementation and belonging to the Ministry for Environment.
- The Catalonian Water Agency: Area of River Spaces
Portugal:
- Instituto da Água (National Water Institute), belonging to the Ministry for Environment, Land Management and Regional Development.
Austria:
- Two departments from the Provincial Government of Carinthia: Subdepartment of Nature Conservation and Department for Water Management.
